Bouncy Jellies: Privacy Policy

Effective: October 18, 2026

Bouncy Jellies ("the app") is a game made by Honver Lam ("we"). It is for iPhone and iPad, for Android phones and tablets, and on the web, and this policy covers all of them.

The short version

The app has no accounts and no ads. It sends anonymous information about how the game is used, so that we can fix problems and make the game better. Nothing in it says who you are, and you can turn it off at any time in the Flavor Book ("Share anonymous play data"). The game needs no internet connection to play.

What stays on your device

The app saves your game on your device so it is there when you come back: the flavors you have discovered, your score, sprinkles and progress, and your settings (music and effects on or off, the wobble setting, the floor you chose). This is stored with the system's own storage for apps (UserDefaults on iPhone and iPad, the app's own preferences on Android) and does not leave your device (on Android it becomes part of your own Google backup, if you have that turned on). Deleting the app, or choosing "Erase all progress" in the Flavor Book, removes it. In the web version of the game the same things are kept in your browser's own storage on your device.

What we collect

When the app is open and the sharing is on, it sends short, anonymous events: when a game starts and how long it lasts; which parts of the game are used (for example that an order was finished, the Flavor Book was opened, or a special bear was tried, unlocked or bought, and how many sprinkles you had, in rounded numbers); how well the game runs (frames a second and how many bears are on the table); and the kind of screen it runs on (its size to the nearest ten points, the pixel ratio, whether it runs in the iPhone or iPad app, the Android app or on the web, and which graphics system it uses). Each launch of the app has a random identifier made by the app itself, and each installation has another random identifier, so that we can count how many people come back. Neither identifier is your advertising identifier, your device's identifier or anything linked to you or to your Apple or Google account, and the installation identifier is replaced when you erase your progress.

We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, photos, anything you type, or the names of the flavors you invent.

The events are received by a server of ours hosted on Vercel and kept in a database hosted by Neon, both acting only for us. We keep them for 14 months, and then they are deleted.

Purchases

The app offers optional in-app purchases (the Beach floor, and two special bears, which can also be unlocked for free by playing). Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and by Google through Google Play on Android: we never see or store your payment details, name, Apple ID or Google account. Apple or Google tells the app whether you own a purchase so that it can unlock it, and so that "Restore Purchases" (or a new phone signed in to the same account) can unlock it again. Apple's or Google's own privacy policy applies to the purchase.

What we do not do

Turning it off

"Share anonymous play data" in the Flavor Book. When it is off the app sends nothing and forgets what it had not yet sent. The choice stays when you erase your progress.

Children

The app is for everyone, including children. It collects no personal information from anyone: the events above are anonymous and used only to run and improve the game. It shows no ads and no links out of the app. Parents can turn the sharing off in the Flavor Book.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
